Questions that come up most before someone starts.
What do I get for the monthly rate?
Everything in Scope: design, build and the AI work beside it, with unlimited requests and iterations, and deliverables every week.
How does onboarding work?
Subscribe, then book a call or send an email. We put together your list of priorities and start at the top, working in whichever channel suits you: Slack, email or text.
Who are the designers?
cottam.design is a one-man agency, run by Tyson Cottam, the founder. You’ll work directly with me through the entirety of your engagement.
How many things can I have going at once?
As many as you like. You set the priority, and we work down your list in the order you put it in.
How quickly do I see work?
Every week. Updates and deliverables land on a weekly cadence rather than at the end of a milestone.
How do you handle larger requests?
It goes on your list like anything else and arrives in stages, with deliverables every week rather than one drop at the end. If it has a hard deadline, say so before you subscribe and we will tell you honestly whether it is realistic.
Are there any requests you don't support?
A few. Finished video and motion graphics, 3D modelling, and print production such as packaging or magazines. Motion inside a screen is fine; producing media is not. We may also decline work we would rather not put our name to, and if we turn down the thing you subscribed for, that month is refunded in full. The exact list is in the terms.
Can I buy a single month?
Yes. Subscribe, then cancel straight away. The month you have paid for runs in full and nothing renews.
What happens if I pause?
Billing stops while you are paused and picks up when you resume. It is the better option if you are between projects rather than finished.
How do I manage my subscription?
From the billing portal. Enter the email you paid with, Stripe sends you a one-time link, and you can pause or cancel from there. There is no account here and no password, and you do not have to give a reason.
Who owns the work?
You do. We keep only our own methods and anything that existed before your project, and you get a permanent free right to use those inside what we made.
Are there any refunds?
A month that has started is not refundable: it is paid in advance and the capacity is reserved when it begins. Two exceptions you never have to argue for are a month you meant to cancel and did not use, and any month we could not deliver.
What if it turns out not to be a fit?
No problem. Iterations are unlimited, so the normal answer is that we keep going until you are happy with it. If it still is not right, you can cancel whenever you like, with no questions asked and no hard feelings. And booking a call first is free, which is the cheapest way to find out before you pay anything.
